Fly from Urumqi to Kashgar, approximately 2 hours.

Upon arrival, begin exploring the atmospheric Kashgar Old City, where traditional Uyghur architecture, colorful streets, neighborhood markets and everyday local life create a completely different cultural experience from eastern China.

Take a leisurely walk through the historic lanes and discover the unique character of this ancient Silk Road city.

Day 2 | Kashgar | Living Uyghur Culture

Discover the cultural heart of Kashgar.

Visit Id Kah Mosque, an important landmark of Central Asian Islamic architecture and a historic center of religious and commercial life.

Explore the traditional Handicraft Street and Old Street Teahouse, where jewelry, pottery, musical instruments and handmade crafts reflect the region's rich artistic traditions.

Visit a historic local teahouse for a more intimate cultural experience, including traditional musical performances and Uyghur folk traditions.

Day 3 | Kashgar → Taxkorgan | Into the Pamirs

Begin the journey toward the Pamir Mountains.

Travel from Kashgar through Oytagh Red Mountain, then continue to Baisha Lake and Karakul Lake, with spectacular views toward Muztagh Ata, one of the most iconic snow-capped peaks of the Pamirs.

Continue to Taxkorgan, a high-altitude town at approximately 3,100 meters.

Overnight: Taxkorgan

Day 4 | Taxkorgan → Kashgar | Ancient Fortresses & Alpine Landscapes

Visit Stone City and the surrounding Golden Grassland, where ancient ruins stand against the dramatic Pamir landscape.

Continue along the spectacular Panlong Ancient Road, famous for its dramatic mountain switchbacks, and visit Bandir Blue Lake.

Return to Kashgar.

Option 3 | Nature: Sayram Lake, Grasslands & Ili Valley

4-Day Extension | Urumqi → Kuitun → Sayram Lake → Yining

Day 1 | Urumqi → Kuitun

Drive approximately 3 hours from Urumqi to Kuitun.

Visit Dushanzi Grand Canyon, a spectacular geological landscape formed by millions of years of erosion and mountain water. The enormous canyon walls offer a dramatic introduction to the landscapes of northern Xinjiang.

Overnight: Kuitun

Day 2 | Kuitun → Sayram Lake → Qingshuihe

Drive approximately 3.5 hours to Sayram Lake, one of northern Xinjiang's most beautiful alpine landscapes.

Travel around the lake and stop at scenic viewpoints such as Moon Bay, Keleshuzhu and the S-shaped bend, enjoying expansive views of blue water, grasslands and surrounding mountains.

Continue to the Guozigou Bridge viewpoint, an impressive engineering landmark set within the dramatic mountain valley.

Overnight: Qingshuihe

Day 3 | Qingshuihe → Kazanqi

Travel approximately 1.5 hours to Kazanqi Folk Tourism Area in Yining.

If traveling during the June–July lavender season, an optional visit to a local lavender farm can be arranged.

Explore Kazanqi's distinctive blue Uyghur old town, colorful traditional houses and local workshops.

Optional Experiences: Horse-drawn carriage ride through the old town and a local family visit to discover traditional customs and hospitality.

Overnight: Yining
