Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Beijing

Arrive in Beijing and meet your guide at the airport or railway station. Transfer to your hotel for check-in and rest.

Day 2 | Temple of Heaven – Gubei Water Town & Simatai

Begin your Beijing journey at the Temple of Heaven, where you can join a morning Tai Chi experience alongside local residents.

Continue to Gubei Water Town, a picturesque mountain town inspired by the traditional water towns of northern China. Enjoy lunch before exploring its charming streets, stone bridges, canals and historic-style architecture.

In the afternoon, discover the surroundings of Simatai Great Wall and Gubei Water Town, nestled among the mountains northeast of Beijing.

During winter, the town takes on a particularly peaceful atmosphere, with crisp mountain air, quiet waterways and beautifully illuminated streets after dark.

At your own expense, you may choose from optional local experiences such as tie-dye, traditional wine-making or a hot spring experience.

In the evening, enjoy the enchanting night scenery of Gubei Water Town and admire the illuminated Simatai Great Wall winding across the surrounding mountains.

Depending on the daily schedule and weather conditions, seasonal evening entertainment may include the Wangjing Street Music & Water-Dance Show, drone-simulated Kongming Lantern aerial performance and Iron Flower (Da Tie Hua) Show.

Day 3 | Simatai Great Wall Sunrise – Hutong Trishaw Tour – Shichahai

Wake up early for a memorable Simatai Great Wall sunrise experience and morning hike.

After returning to Beijing, explore the city's historic Hutong neighbourhoods by traditional trishaw. Discover the narrow lanes and traditional courtyard homes that reveal another side of Beijing beyond its imperial landmarks.

Enjoy lunch at a local hutong family home, offering an opportunity to experience everyday Beijing life in a more personal setting.

In the afternoon, enjoy free time around Shichahai, one of Beijing's most atmospheric historic neighbourhoods, with its lakes, old lanes, cafés and traditional architecture.

Day 4 | Tiananmen Square – Forbidden City – Jingshan Park – Wangfujing

Explore the heart of imperial Beijing, beginning with Tiananmen Square and the magnificent Forbidden City.

Discover the palace complex and visit the Treasure Gallery and Nine-Dragon Wall, before continuing to Jingshan Park for a panoramic view over the Forbidden City and Beijing's historic centre.

In the evening, enjoy free time to explore Wangfujing Street, one of Beijing's best-known shopping and entertainment areas.

Day 5 | Mutianyu Great Wall – Olympic Landmarks

Travel to the Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the most scenic and well-preserved sections of the Great Wall near Beijing.

Enjoy a walk along the ancient defensive walls and mountain ridges. You may choose a round-trip cable car or take the chairlift up and toboggan ride down for a more exciting experience.

In the afternoon, see Beijing's iconic Olympic landmarks, including the exterior of the Bird's Nest and Water Cube.

Enjoy a coffee break with a Great Wall view, depending on the selected experience.
