Itinerary

Day 1 Chengdu

Arrival transfer from airport to hotel.

No lunch or dinner included.

Overnight stay in Chengdu.

Day 2 Chengdu

Visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, visit the cub nursery to see lovely baby giant pandas (panda holding service not included), No.1 Villa and Red Panda Nursery. Then head to Sanxingdui Museum with audio guide headphones provided.

Lunch: Chengdu-style local cuisine

Dinner: Chengdu snacks

Overnight stay in Chengdu.

Day 3 Chengdu – Songpan Ancient City

After breakfast, take high-speed train from Chengdu East Railway Station to Songpan Railway Station. Tour Songpan Ancient City, an ancient frontier town with profound history (city wall access not included). Afterwards travel to Chuanzhusi for a Tibetan family cultural experience: enjoy singing, dancing, highland barley wine and butter tea.

Day 4 Songpan Ancient City – Jiuzhaigou

Full-day sightseeing at Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, known as a fairyland on earth. Shared eco-shuttle bus within the scenic area is included.

Optional add-on: Jiuzhaigou Romance Show.

Lunch: Buffet inside the scenic area

Overnight stay in Jiuzhaigou.

Day 5 Jiuzhaigou – Chengdu

2.5–3 hours’ drive to Huanglong Scenic Area, famed as the Jade Pool on Earth. Upbound cable car and battery cart tickets are covered. From December to March every year, Huanglong will be replaced with Munigou Scenic Area for sightseeing. In the late afternoon, take high-speed train back to Chengdu from Songpan Station .

Day 6 Chengdu – Leshan – Emei Mountain

4 hours’ drive in total (2–2.5 hours from Chengdu to Leshan, then another 1 hour to Emei Mountain).

After breakfast, drive to Leshan and take a boat cruise to view the Leshan Giant Buddha, the world’s largest stone Maitreya Buddha statue from river perspective. Next visit Suji Ancient Town to experience original western Sichuan old streets, optional explore local tea houses and local snacks.

Overnight stay in Emei Mountain.

Day 7 Emei Mountain – Chengdu

2–2.5 hours’ drive back to Chengdu.

After breakfast, tour Emei Mountain Scenic Area and climb Golden Summit. Round-trip cable cars and sightseeing shuttle bus tickets are included; around 2 hours of walking is required. Mount Emei, a dual World Natural & Cultural Heritage site, is renowned as a sacred Buddhist mountain and blessed with gorgeous natural landscapes, plus lively wild macaques wandering the mountain paths as a wonderful hiking highlight. Return to Chengdu in the late afternoon.

Day 8 Chengdu

Visit People’s Park (famous matchmaking square) with complimentary covered-bowl tea experience, wander Jinli Ancient Street and join Tai Chi experience. Tour Sichuan Cuisine Museum to watch live Sichuan cooking demonstrations. Transfer to airport or high-speed railway station for departure.
