Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Beijing

Welcome to Beijing! Upon arrival, your private driver-guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Beijing.

The remainder of the day is free at leisure to rest and prepare for your winter journey through China’s capital.

Day 2 | Temple of Heaven • Simatai Great Wall • Gubei Water Town

Start your morning at the Temple of Heaven, where you can join a traditional Tai Chi experience with local residents and experience the peaceful rhythm of everyday Beijing life.

Afterwards, travel to the Simatai Great Wall and Gubei Water Town, nestled among the mountains northeast of Beijing.

Enjoy lunch in Gubei Water Town, then explore its traditional streets, stone bridges, canals and historic architecture. During the winter season, the town takes on a particularly tranquil atmosphere, with crisp mountain air and beautifully illuminated waterways after dark.

At your own expense, you may choose to join optional local experiences such as tie-dye, traditional wine-brewing or a hot spring experience.

In the evening, enjoy the enchanting night scenery of Gubei Water Town and admire the illuminated Simatai Great Wall winding across the surrounding mountains.

Depending on the daily schedule and weather conditions, seasonal evening entertainment may include the Wangjing Street Music & Water-Dance Show, drone-simulated Kongming-lantern aerial performance and the spectacular Iron Flower (Da Tie Hua) Show.

All evening performances are subject to the scenic site’s daily arrangement, seasonal schedule and weather conditions.

Day 3 | Simatai Great Wall Morning • Forbidden City • Jingshan Park

Rise early and enjoy a memorable morning hike on the Simatai Great Wall.

Experience the Great Wall during the quiet winter morning, when the mountain air is crisp and the surroundings are peaceful. Enjoy sweeping views across the mountains and Gubei Water Town, with the possibility of beautiful morning light or sunrise scenery, weather and operating conditions permitting.

Return to Gubei Water Town for breakfast before travelling back to central Beijing.

Visit Tiananmen Square and the magnificent Forbidden City, including the Treasure Gallery and Nine-Dragon Screen. If Forbidden City tickets are unavailable, Prince Gong’s Mansion will be offered as an alternative.

Continue to Jingshan Park for a sweeping panoramic view of the Forbidden City and Beijing’s historic city center.

Optional Evening: Peking Duck Dinner combined with a Peking Opera or Chinese Acrobatics Show.

Day 4 | Mutianyu Great Wall • Hutong Life • Shichahai

Today, discover another spectacular section of the Great Wall at Mutianyu, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery.

Choose a round-trip cable car, or take the cable car uphill and enjoy an exciting toboggan ride downhill.

After returning to the city, experience old Beijing from a different perspective with a traditional Hutong tricycle tour, exploring the narrow lanes and historic residential neighborhoods.

Continue to Shichahai for free exploration. Enjoy the area at your own pace, with its lakeside scenery, traditional neighborhoods, cafés and lively bars.

Day 5 | Departure from Beijing

After breakfast, enjoy a private one-way transfer to Beijing Airport or the high-speed railway station for your onward journey.
